 Piano
Misuzu Kitazumi-Burns is an active pianist/educator in the Los Angeles area. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the California Institute of the Arts and a Master of Music in piano performance from the University of Redlands in 2004. She was selected to perform a piano concerto with the California Institute of the Arts school orchestra in 1997 and is a first prizewinner of the Antelope Valley Bach Competition in 1999. She also had appeared as a pianist at Harbor City College on numerous occasions.
Her piano teachers include, Susan High, Louanne Fuchs Long, Dr. Vicky Ray and Bryan Pezzone, and attended the master class of Dr. Yakov Birman. Her rich teaching experience leads many of her students to pass the Certificate of Merit and an audition for California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSA). She is an active member of MTAC (Music Teachers Association of California) and taught at the University of Redlands Community School as part of the piano faculty from 2002 to 2004 along with many music schools in Southern California.
