 Cello
John Ott received his B.M. in musical performance in 2004 from the University of California, Irvine, where he studied with Dr. Margaret Parkins. He is a member of Elegie String Quartet, a professional ensemble, and has played in several orchestras, including South Orange County Chamber Orchestra, UCI Symphony and Pasadena Community Orchestra.
In the summer of 2004, he participated in Ameropa Music Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, where he studied with world-renowned cello instructor Evzen Rattay. In addition to performing, John is in demand as a cello teacher all over the Los Angeles/Orange County area. He coaches string ensembles annually at the ChamberArtsFest at Soka University in Aliso Viejo. He also tutors music theory at all levels, composes and arranges music for his performing ensembles, and is a copyist for Musishare, an online music publishing company.
