Violin
Joyce Leonard has performed as a soloist with the Anna Maria Island Orchestra and the Manatee Community College Orchestra (both based in Tampa Bay, Florida). As an orchestral musician, she has performed as concert mistress for the New England Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and the Florida West Coast Symphony Youth Philharmonic. She has served as principal second violinist of the Boston Chamber Orchestra as well. Other orchestras Miss Leonard has performed in include the American Youth Symphony, Debut Symphony, Hingham Symphony, New Bedford Symphony and Sarasota Pops. Joyce has been a part of a chamber music outreach concert series in the New England area called the Northward Bound Series. She has also played in a modern chamber works ensemble called the Callithumpian Consort. She is a former member of La Tablada, a tango trio and currently plays in a piano trio based in Los Angeles. Miss Leonard is a graduate from the New England Conservatory of Music where she studied with professor Eric Rosenblith. She has attended the Henry Mancini Institute of Music, International Musical Arts Institute, Encore School for Strings, and the Indiana University String Academy. She has had coachings with members of the Boromeo String Quartet, Pamela Frank, Laurence Lesser, James Buswell, Steven Drury, and the Fine Arts Quartet.
