This policy is set in place so that the student gains that maximum benefit from their lessons and to ensure efficient operation of the studio.
Lessons are scheduled on a presumed weekly basis. Continuing students will be invoiced on the final week of the month and payment must be made for the next month's set of lessons. Unpaid lessons will NOT be taught. For months that have four (4) weeks of lessons, the student is required to pay for all four weeks of lessons. For months that have five (5) weeks, likewise, the student is required to pay for five all five weeks of lessons. If at the time of payment, student/parent is aware of days that they can absolutely not come to lessons, Opus Music will allow you to pay for fewer lessons at a rate set aside for non-consecutive lessons (see pricing). After the schedule is set, we will not extend the lesson series and renewal date any further for reasons initiated by the student (see Make-Up policy below).
For students with unpredictable schedules, we have separate packages available for non-consecutive lessons. With this option, students will call in up to a day in advance of a preferred date of the lesson to check on your teacher's availability. These lessons are only available based on teacher and studio availability. Therefore, specific times cannot be reserved for these lessons on any regular basis.
Students of Opus Music must be current with payment prior to lessons being scheduled. If the student does not renew in a timely manner, the lesson will not be placed on the schedule.
We are able to accept payments at the front desk, by phone, by mail and now through online bill pay. Lesson dues can be paid by cash, check, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and JCB) and PayPal.
Cancellation of lessons must be made with the appointment desk at Opus Music before 7pm the day before your regularly scheduled lesson. We require written notification of your cancellation either by email or by filling out a very simple rescheduling request form at the appointment desk.
Opus Music instructors reserve the right to have substitutes come teach on their behalf and sometimes without prior notice.
*Our instructors take your lesson times very seriously and will make every effort to be there for you as consistently as possible. Moreover, if the teacher is able to make prior arrangements to reschedule your lesson ahead of another professional (or personal) obligation, we will do our best to honor your time with your instructor. However, in the event that your teacher is suddenly unable to teach the lesson, Opus Music reserves the right to bring in a substitute to teach the lesson and sometimes without prior notice. We feel that it is very important that our instructors have the right to engage in outside professional obligations without fear of doing damage to the regular operations of Opus Music. Be assured that we will do our very best to assign a highly qualified substitute in your teacher's stead. Thank you for your understanding.
